In Japan, tipping is not acceptable. It may insult Japanese people.
In India, tipping is acceptable and it is around 1% to 5% of actual amount.
In Jordan, it’s part of the culture. The tip’s percentage may vary between 5% to 35%. Tip will be added to your bill. But it’s illegal to tip government officials, in public, the police and the military.
In Belgium, tips are not expected. You may juts leave a round up change.
In Denmark, Finland and France, tips are not expected because service charges are included in bill by law.
In Switzerland, it’s 15% which is included in the menu prices and hence in the bill by law.
How to calculate the tip without a calculator?
You may find 10% first and then juts add half (5%) to it. For instance, you bill is $35.00 so 10% of $35 is $3.50. Quick tip: when you calculate 10% you juts need to move the decimal place to the left. Half of $3.50 is $1.75 which is 5%. The total of your tipping is $3.50 plus $1.75 which is equal to $5.25.
In case if the amount of you bill is some obscure value as $15.63, you may just round it to $16 use the method described above.
Also you may just look at the tax percentage amount in your bill and use it for your calculation.
